We know most cuddy owners use their cabins as big storage compartments, but newer models like the 210CX are making this style of boat practical again. When built to give a couple shelter in which to snooze, and when the hull is designed to sprint instead of chug, then such a model has a place in the boating fraternity. Just look at the popularity of cuddy cabins along the Great Lakes and even in Europe.

The 210CX gets our attention because it starts with Stingray's patented Z-plane hull. We've tested a lot of Stingray boats over the years, and this is something that always impresses us. The reverse strakes on the Z-plane reduce surface drag, giving the boat more speed for the horsepower, which makes this one of the more exciting cuddy-cabin boats to drive.

Stuffing the cabin with gear would be a disservice to the 210CX. The V-berth is bigger than you'd expect, but the sink, stove, and portable toilet are neatly hidden under the berth cushion. The clean layout gives an appearance of room. You won't spend a weekend on the boat, but you could do a quick overnight.

Accessing the cabin is easy because the glove box forward of the passenger is angled to port, which made it possible to widen the entry hatch. The sleek look of the 210CX carries back to the sun pad and molded swim platform. Overall, it's a sport-boat look on a new-school cuddy.
